History

The Supply Chain Young Professionals Society (SCYPS) was founded by Anya Kroupnik, Jessica Lee, and Madhavi Patel in September 2009 with the idea of starting an organization for young professionals working in the supply chain management industry for the DC Metro area. As supply chain management consultants themselves, they identified a lack of opportunity for young professionals to get together to share ideas, network, and build connections within the Washington D.C. professional community. With the growing presence of numerous prominent consulting firms, multiple government agencies, and private and public companies focusing on supply chain management, large numbers of young professionals are drawn to the DC Metro area each year. As a result, SCYPS was established to provide a resource for these professionals who want to reach out to fellow peers with similar professional interests looking to build solid career connections.
