Our mission is to connect young supply chain management professionals in the D.C. Metro area through industry awareness and education, while promoting networking, volunteering, and career development opportunities.
SCYPS believes that increasing the visibility of supply chain management, logistics, and transportation within the professional business community is a crucial prerequisite to transforming existing business processes into the more flexible, lean, and resilient ones necessary to ensure the future success of companies in both the private and public sector. By providing a forum for young professionals to discuss innovative ideas, participate in speaker events, and learn about supplemental education opportunities, SCYPS will serve as a valuable source of information for those looking to increase their knowledge in this area. SCYPS also hopes to build partnerships with other supply chain professional organizations operating in surrounding areas to increase the visibility of speaker events, certification programs, and industry events targeted to a younger market.
With a focus on reaching out to the alumni of top supply chain management academic programs, supply chain consultants working in the private and public sector, as well as, government agency employees, SCYPS will serve as a vehicle to meet other young supply chain professionals who are looking to network and build relationships. Social events held by SCYPS will provide opportunities for people to interact and network in a more relaxed informal setting.
SCYPS is committed to providing professionals with opportunities to give back to their communities by leveraging the business skills they already have while building experience with volunteer organizations. SCYPS’ joint-efforts with charitable organizations will also allow SCYPS to coordinate and publicize supply chain management related volunteer opportunities.
